Ustina Dubitsky is currently the Assistant Conductor of François-Xavier Roth with the

Gürzenich Orchester Köln.

In December 2022, she assisted Maestro Roth in the new production of Lohengrin with the Bavarian State Opera.  In March 2022, she won the Orchestra Prize in conducting

competition ‘La Maestra’ at the Philharmonie de Paris with the Paris Mozart Orchestra.  She was awarded a fellowship at the La Maestra Academy.  In September 2021, she participated in the 57th conducting competition in Besançon, after which she assisted Jean-François Verdier from 2022-23.
She was invited to work with several orchestras such as the Orchestre de Paris, Dresdner Philharmonie and Orchestre National de Metz. 

 

Dubitsky has devoted herself to conducting since 2014.  She studied in Weimar and Zurich, with teachers Johannes Schlaefli, Markus L. Frank, Gunther Kahlert and Nicolas Pasquet. Further opportunities came from Peter Eötvös, David Zinman and Paavo Järvi.  As part of her studies she conducted the Jenaer Philharmonie, the Meininger Staatskapelle, the Südwestdeutsche Philharmonie Konstanz, the Collegium Musicum, Basel and the Musikkollegium Winterthur.

 

From 2015- 2017, Dubitsky was the Artistic Director of the Collegium Musicum, Weimar.  From 2017-2019, she was the Artistic Director of the Chor der Volkshochschule, Leipzig. In 2018-19 she was a fellowship holder of the conducting academy of the Bergische Symphoniker.  Ustina also takes every occasion to create her own projects, such as the live stream concert "Wie ich dich liebe" in July 2020 with musicians from the Gewandhausorchester.
